DŽAMONJA FOUNDATION
1976.
Authors: Krešimir Kasanić, Lenko Pleština
Dušan Đžamonja, internationally known Croatian sculptor asked my college
architect Kasanić to give some proposal for his newly planned Foundation,
house, studio and gallery space for his sculptures. City would have supported
erection of edifice and give him land on Cmrok, attractive green area of
Zagreb north. Kasanić invited me to join him to work on mutual proposal.
We talked a lot about project, and made many sketches. Here are some of
my sketches for our mutual work. We had a very pleasant meeting with the
sculptor, he liked our proposals, gave some remarks we accepted, but somehow
project stopped. So far there has not been any foundation! (It is unusual
that Đžamonja needed our project, because he is kind of sculptor very much
interested in his own architectural design, but here he didn't make any
project, neither somebody else. His deal with city never advanced!) |
